From today’s Scripture: “There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for everything under the heavens. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build.”—Eccl 3:1-3

This passage became a popular song, “Turn, Turn, Turn,” which still shows up on the radio or the streaming service of your choice! Ecclesiastes reminds us, indeed proclaims, that there are positive and upbeat moments and there are times of suffering and pain. That’s life, as we say. It can be important to know what “time” I am experiencing now. And even more important, to be aware that there is an ebb and flow. This is especially helpful during those difficult and painful times. Dark as some times may seem, they do not last forever.

Let us pray: Jesus, help me to embrace the crosses in my life, yes, but also help me to celebrate and to dance because you are with me.
